About Sid
"I started Sids's Pet Care because I miss the joy of having pets"
I'm Sid from Sid's Pet Care. I was born in England, and moved to Australia as a young child. After meeting my partner I decided to move to her native Netherlands, living in Leiden. In Australia, I had the privilege of caring for a Dog (Wolfhound), Cats, and a Buckskin Quarter Horse. Each of them had their own personalities, needs, and challenges. I enjoyed every moment with each of them, and learned a lot about effective care for different animals over a decade.I started Sid's Pet Care because I miss the joy of having pets and this is a great way to satisfy that missing part of life, while also helping pet owners navigate their responsibilities and travel commitments. Pets are beloved family members, and my services help provide valuable reassurance to owners (or parents, as many view themselves). As of now I have 5 clients and 9 animals on a regular & semi-regular basis, with plenty of space, time and energy for many more!

Pets: Polly & Harvey, Cats
"A true 5+ STAR Pet Sitter"
"Sid is AMAZING! He did such a wonderful job looking after our Mateo. He truly is a natural with dogs- and immediately formed a bond with ours. They really had a GREAT time together. Communication with Sid was outstanding- and the precious updates and pictures of Mateo having such a nice time while we were away gave us so much comfort and joy. We came home to a very happy dog (Sid left everything in absolute perfect order in the house as well.) He is a true 5+ STAR Pet Sitter and we highly recommend him!"Robb, Leiden

These terms and conditions apply to the services that are offered and performed by me, Sid from Sid's Pet Care, (“SPC Services”), which are purchased by the owner(s) of a pet (“Petowner”).In principle, any agreement between Sid's Pet Care ("SPC") and a Petowner is subject to the provisions of Dutch law. However, there are some provisions that are important to be aware of, that SPC clarifies or that SPC deviates from.CancellationIf an appointment for one or more of SPC's Services has been confirmed between SPC and a Petowner, the Petowner may cancel (including reschedule) under the following conditions:- Dog Walking and Drop in Visits: 24 hours in advance
- Pet Sitting: 48 hours noticeIn case a cancellation occurs after the aforementioned period, then the Petowner shall owe 50% of the agreed fee, or the fee as indicated on SPC's website, to SPC.If the Petowner holds SPC to certain directions and SPC being unwilling on reasonable grounds to carry out the assignment according to these directions, SPC has the right terminate the contract.LiabilityA Petowner is liable for the pet and for any damage caused by the pet, including during the performance of SPC's services. This liability includes the cost of any reasonable measure to prevent or mitigate damage taken by anyone after a serious and imminent threat of causing damage eligible for compensation under those articles and damage and loss caused by such measures. In this regard, SPC recommends taking out adequate liability insurance that also covers the pet.SPC is only liable for direct damage (not being consequential damage) of the Petowner and which is the direct and exclusive result of a failure attributable to SPC.Force majeureIn addition to the provisions of Article 6:75 of the Dutch Civil Code, a failure by SPC to fulfill any obligation towards the Petowner cannot be attributed to SPC in the event of a circumstance beyond SPC's control, as a result of which SPC's fulfillment of its obligations towards the Petowner is prevented in whole or in part or as a result of which SPC's fulfillment of its obligations cannot reasonably be required.Such circumstances include third-party defaults, power failures, computer viruses, strikes and work stoppages. If a situation as described above occurs, SPC's obligations will be suspended for as long as SPC is unable to fulfill its obligations. If this situation has lasted for 7 (seven) calendar days, then both parties have the right to terminate all or part of the agreement in writing. In that case, SPC will not be obliged to compensate any damage, even if SPC enjoys any advantage as a result of the situation.Terms of paymentUnless otherwise agreed in writing, payment of the fee must be received in full by SPC no later than 48 hours prior to the occurrence of the SPC Service. The Petowner waives the right to set off a debt to SPC or demand suspension. If a payment term is exceeded, SPC has the right to refuse the SPC Service until the Petowner has paid the fee. If the SPC Service has already taken place and the agreed payment term has been exceeded by the Petowner, SPC will send a notice of default containing a 3-day period for payment. If the Petowner then again remains in default, all of SPC's claims against the Petowner under the relevant agreement become immediately due and payable. This is available via www.sidspetcare.com.Modification of General Terms and ConditionsSPC is entitled to unilaterally amend these General Terms and Conditions. In that case, SPC will inform the Petowner of the changes in a timely manner. If the Petowner is a natural person, not acting in the exercise of a profession or business, and the amendment results in the Petowner being provided with a performance that differs substantially from the original performance, the Petowner has the right to terminate a contract as of the date on which the amended General Terms and Conditions take effect.Applicable law and competent courtThese General Terms and Conditions and any agreement between SPC and the Petowner are governed by Dutch law. All disputes that may arise in connection with a contract between SPC and the Petowner or any contract resulting from it will be settled exclusively by the court in The Hague, unless the Petowner is not acting in the exercise of a profession or business and, within one month after SPC has invoked this article in writing, has made it known that they choose the court with jurisdiction under the law to settle the dispute.Last update: October 2024
